Once again, Christmas is here.
Once again, Christmas is here. At the end of every year the period of festivities, that most of us like and wait all year for, has arrived again. In Denmark, the snow is covering the roofs of buildings and trees are white. People around us are busy, preparing for this big annual event, buying the Christmas tree they will put in their living room, decorating it, and also buying presents. Others will probably celebrate it alone. Christmas is an occasion to be with friends and the people who are alone, as Christmas isn't just for giving gifts: it is also about giving love and friendship to all your beloved. And we hope you won't forget that.
However, this period of the year represents many other things such as, the end of the year and the beginning of a new one.
Now, after what I wrote in the first paragraph, I hate to start talking business, but, as I'm in charge of this company I'm obliged to do so.
First, we are sorry to announce that we are very late at GLP with the reports of our clients and that we won't be able to supply a final report for this year for DRSC Publishers. But, in a few words, we actually managed to make a profit.
Having said that, we are going to remain closed until the second week of January. This is due to the holidays given to our staff. But this doesn't mean customer service won't be reachable. Please contact us by sending an e-mail to email@example.com if you have any question/doubt/recommendation we will reply in less than 24 hours, all 7 days of the week.
We then would like to announce that we have hired a new employee via GLP to help in customer service as well as accountancy. We will talk about this in more detail in January.
As the objective of DRSC Publishers is helping authors who may not be able to get published by other publishers or don't understand how self-publishing works, we don't want to make a profit out of the revenue of books sold. That is why we have invested into tech, and bought 7 phablets from Huawei (the Mediapad X1) and this is why we all now have a tablet. We hope that, with this investment, our staff as well as authors will be able to increase productivity, and thus, competitivity.
In January or February we are supposed to publish another book. We are not able to give a date yet, as it may be delayed due to various reasons. But we can already give a title: it should be either "Swedish Love Story" or the translation into Spanish of "Le Noyau U". We are also sorry to say to our German customers who are waiting for the German version of "Red snow at Tivoli" and two other books that the translation was delayed due to many reasons, mostly because the translator has other priorities (other appointments).
We are also sorry to announce we are having delays with the paperbacks we are to publish in January 2015, as the graphic designer we usually employ is very busy. We are going to contact another graphic designer, who is in charge of the design of our website.
We will start by releasing one paperback, "Le Noyau U", and, depending on the quality of it, we will, or not expand, the offer.
Please notice paperbacks take quite a lot of space in shelves and libraries, while eBooks don't.
For those interested, they will be printed by CreateSpace.
As we are talking about our new website, things are going fast on that side. We have been able to see a few Photoshop pictures of it, and it looks really very nice. We hope the final version will also be awesome!
As you all should know, we are on Snapchat (drscpub-eu), as well as on Facebook. Now we are also on Twitter!
Don't forget to follow @DRSC_Publishers for news about future releases!
And now comes the fun part: we propose to you a few things to make your Christmas even nicer and more Danish/Nordic:
1. Why don't you make some Julestjerner (Christmas star) or Julehjerter (Christmas heart) to decorate your house and your Christmas tree? Here you can see how they look on our plastic tree, at DRSC Publishers.
Below you will find a few (good) YouTube tutorials as well as some templates. Enjoy and don't forget to share some pictures with us!!
